París con perros | Paris with dogs

English translation below

No ❌🐕

Paris is the city of light, the city of love, but definitely – for me – it is not the city of dogs.

From Luxembourg we are 3 hours. by car from Paris and have been several times. I think Frida and Mecha have a record of 4 visits!

Is Paris #dogfriendly to visit with our friends?

No ❌🐕

From the human point of view, it is magical, now to visit it with dogs not so much.

We tell you some things to keep in mind:

Parks and squares ❌: most – if not all in the center – do not accept dogs. That is, if you go in, someone from security literally comes and asks you to leave (quickly). In fact, I consulted with some Parisians with dogs and they told me that the issue is extremely complex, that the only accessible green areas are in the most remote districts. The biggest problem with this is that Frida, like many dogs, is used to peeing on the grass precisely to avoid dirtying the sidewalks. As we did not have access to any park, green area or canyon, this issue became difficult for us.
Metro ✅: small dogs in a bag, they do not pay a ticket. Medium / large dogs that do not fit in a bag must wear a muzzle and pay 1/2 ticket. Without knowing it, we traveled without a muzzle or ticket and no one told us anything.
Bus ❌: only small dogs in a bag
Trains ✅: small dogs pay a reduced rate, medium / large dogs half the cost of a human ticket. As always, all wrong with medium or large dogs.
Museums, churches and more ❌: forget it!
Restaurants ✅❌: it depends on each restaurant, but in general we had no problems with this
Hotels ✅: Paris in itself is quite expensive, so finding a well-located hotel at a reasonable price that accepts dogs is almost an impossible mission. But there are! The @ibishotels (we are a huge fan of this chain) are always an excellent option.

Shops ✅: it depends, there may be exceptions but in general they are usually #dogfriendly
Tip 🐀: if you have a dog that goes crazy with these little rodents, hold them tight because it depends on the neighborhood, it is full!
